New Movie Giveaway:

I just previewed this movie. It is the 6th film based on Janette Oke’s Love Comes Softly novels. Very romantic and inspiring.

I thoroughly enjoyed the movie even though I understand it does not follow the book. –>I didn’t read the books so that doesn’t bother me. Lots of my children/grandchildren have,so I’ll be curious as to their reaction. I intend to watch it again with my grandchildren (COUSIN CAMP!!!). I do love the threads of faith and hard work. An absolutely wonderful family film and I highly recommend it.

We’ve watched a couple of good movies this weekend. We actually were very surprised by them both.

The Great Raid

This was a movie about a part of World War II that some of us don’t think much about. We hear a lot about storming the beaches at Normandy and the bombing of Pearl Harbor. But, how much is really told about the POW camps in the Philippines. There the Japanese held Americans and Filipinos for about 3 years while the war in Europe was being fought. Many of the Americans thought they had been forgotten and left behind by their country. It was very well done. It was not a brutal, blood and guts movie. (Well, there were a few spots…burning bodies, etc). But, a good historical film nonetheless with Benjamin Bratt and Joseph Fiennes.

One Word…Weird. Granddaddy and I watched it and then Lauren and I watched it. Not quite what I expected but quite a magical adventure through an enchanted forest. Oh, the one word description was Lauren’s.
