I’ve started to rant and rave about several things recently and didn’t. Some are not current-current, but here goes.

The Foley Scandal

The priest that admits a relationship with Mark Foley is disgusting! He admits to behavior that is inappropriate between any adult male and a teenaged boy. Yet, he says Mr. Foley needs to get over it and let bygones be bygones. Total refusal to accept the fact that what he did to that man as a teenager has affected his entire life.

Recently on Grandmommy.com, I was asked the following question.

Grandsons ages 3 1/2 and 18 months are totally undisciplined. When they visit here, my husband and I are shell-shocked by the time they leave three hours later. How can I lovingly say, “Don’t come over, we’ll go there”

From conversations that I have had with other grandparents in recent days, I have discovered this seems to be a problem that many grandparents have. So, I thought that I would post the answer that Granddaddy and I had for this grandparent.

Recently on Grandmommy.com, I was asked the following question.

mum is over the top with our daughter 2. she competes for 110% of her attention. if someone tries to have contact, she steps in & does something louder.we no longer feel like parents-our daughter ignores us. she says wierd stuff - if we die she’ll take our daughter.she plays violent games, teaches her snatching, smacking - because she’s in such a hyperactive,state. i have talked to her, she didn’t understand - making me feel guilty.
