Devotion written for July 6

Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father…So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.” Matthew 10:29-31

As a child, I used to sit with my grandmother and listen to Billy Graham on the radio. She loved to hear George Beverly Shea sing. There was NO talking when Mr. Shea was singing! Sometimes I think it was her favorite part. She especially loved to hear him sing, “His Eye is On the Sparrow”.

You know, it has become one of my favorite songs, too. So many times, I am reminded that God’s eye is on the sparrow and that I can rest, assured in the knowledge that He is watching me.

Devotion written for July 5

I have a favorite portrait of my father. It sits in my living room so that I can look at it often. I share this picture, and what it means to me, every chance that I have. So, I would like to share it today with you.

My favorite portrait of my dadThe picture was taken when I was about 3 and my sister was about 2. We are sitting together on horseback with a tiny rocking horse sitting on the ground next to the horse’s hind legs. You cannot see my father in this picture.

So, why is it my favorite photo of my dad??
