We

Well, we finally joined Netflix. I set it all up and set my “wishlist”. Granddaddy went in and rearranged it. I was nice. I put in lots of little war movies, threw in Steve McQueen (because who doesn’t love “Bullitt”). He rearranged things. We are getting all the Steve McQueen movies and we’ve seen “The Magnificent 7″ and “The Return of …”

We’ve also seen “High School Musical”. I was so hoping that one of my little girls would bring it for Movie Night, but unfortunately, no one loves Grandmommy enough!! Actually, I must hand it to Mike. He checked his sisterinlaw’s stash. She just didn’t have it. But, I have now seen the movie that has wowed them all. It was very “girlish”. If I were 12, I would have absolutely adored it. As a Grandmother, I thought it was a great movie for my girls. I’m glad to know they all enjoyed it at the various times that they have seen it. Granddaddy did NOT like it, but he suffered through. Just as he’s going to suffer through several musicals that I have ordered and plan to move back to the top of the list. But, don’t tell him. He’ll just go in and move them down!!

We may have to each have our own accounts! [sigh] In the meantime, I think I’ll watch Bullitt again. –>

The

Granddaddy with Flynn
Cousin Camp is over again. I am always anxious for it to get here and then I can’t wait for it to be over!! It was very different this year, but I think everyone had a pretty good time. We only got to see the littlest one for a couple of days, but I’m sure that was enough for her.

We had no major sleep issues this year!!YAY!!! The kids all slept in the living room on air mattresses and got along VERY WELL!!

All kids (including uncles and aunt) made new stepping stones ( have to get those pics from my daughter). The girls made cookies (Nathaniel and Johnathan were not interested in anything except eating them). We watched movies and played dressup. Even granddaddy go into the dressup when the girls put earrings on him. I think they are quite a nice accent for his NRA t-shirt!!
nice earrings, grandpa

They READ POETRY (mostly Shel Silverstein), danced to rock n roll, taught me the Macarena (sp?),ate and ate and ate, had a cookout and smores but no chocolate moustaches (sorry, Cathy), and made tie-dyed t-shirts.

They splashed each other in the kiddie pool and watched it rain….every day. Fortuntately, the rain never lasted very long. Everyone survived and the kids are already talking about next year!!

The no bath rule is gone due to some health concerns I have. So, we now empty the pool and refill it at least once during the week and 2 nights are designated Bath Night!! Johnathan is Mr Clean and he bathes everyday regardless!!

The kids always look forward to Granddaddy’s adventures at night every year. He couldn’t do that, so Uncle Mike and Uncle Matt designed an all-day adventure. Feedback I’ve received is they were pretty successful.Cousin Camp 07

A Thought to Remember
Grandchildren are God’s ways of compensating us for growing old.

Until next year…
