Grandmommy’s Notes in the Margin

We are so very glad that the year 2007 is over! Robert has been off chemo for a couple of months now. He has been able to eat and enjoy food. He has even gained weight and is looking GOOD!!

We have truly enjoyed being with our family. We have 5 of the greatest kids that God has ever placed in a quiver! They are truly our delight. We pray that you all have been as blessed as we have been.

However, the day we knew was coming has come. The cancer is growing again and it is time to go back on chemo for awhile. He’ll start back on January 8. The doctor doesn’t plan to be quite as aggressive as before. He thinks that every other week with a 3 day treatment will be sufficient to knock it back again. We aren’t sure how long Robert will be on treatment; probably as long as he can tolerate it.

He is beginning to have some pain as the lesions in his liver are numerous and they are growing quickly. But, he is still enjoying being able to taste food in the meantime!

We are asking the Lord for strength to endure.

Today, we are also praying for God to be with a dear friend and his family. Isaac Montoya is to have extensive open heart surgery today. We ask that you remember him and his family today.

I must return to work today but then I get to come home and kick off the New Year with my best friend…Who could ask for more??

It is ALL about HIM! –>

Yesterday, Steven provided us with a very sweet gift. … He had the dogs groomed. Don’t they look great?

Steven came to the house before work and picked up the dogs. They behaved beautifully about getting in Stacey’s car to go on a trip together.

He delivered them to Petco where they had to stay all day. Stacey picked them up and delivered them about 7 p.m.

They came inside and posed for pictures. Then we took them back outside. They ate and bedded down for the night.

Then…you got it…it rained. It’s okay. They are no longer matted and will brush off beautifully.

Thank you, baby boy, for a great Christmas gift. (And he did this on HIS birthday) –>
