I Shall Go On

I found this in a book that came from my grandmother. It really helped me today.

I Shall Go On

There have been days of anguish, nights of pain,
The heart has ached, the way has not been clear;
But I shall take life by the hand once more
And by God’s grace I shall go on from here.
Though I must journey for awhile alone
Since the hand I held in mine has loosed its hold,
I shall go on a way I have not known
Through summer’s heat and through the winter’s cold.

But an unseen Presence will be there to stay
My stumbling feet and give me power to stand.
I shall have his promised strength for every day,
As I move out across an untrod land.
I shall not falter and I shall not fear.
God helping me, I shall go on from here.

It really is all about Jesus.

My Dog Jacob

Well, I haven’t posted about the dogs lately, so let me bring you up to date.

While I was out of town, Reuben decided to take over as the pack leader. Actually, he has been doing this for awhile, but he became even more aggressive recently.

I should point out that Jacob and Raechel were actually Robert’s dogs and Reuben was mine.

Anyway, Reuben attacked Jacob and drew blood and left a pretty bad wound on his back. Between his attack (probably more than once) and Jacob rubbing scabs off, it became a very bad open wound. By the time I got home, it was infected and bleeding. Neil was with me and we took him to the vet the following morning. Dr. Harris kept him for the weekend and treated it like an open wound.

Of course, I couldn’t bring him back home to Reuben. So, long story short, Reuben has moved to a new home with my daughter’s family in Austin. I believe Glen and Elizabeth are fighting over ownership. But, If I know Reuben, he’ll choose Laurie and that will be that!!

Jacob is enjoying being a house dog for now. He has taken very well to the crate and is slowly getting used to his new routine. He’s probably not going to be very happy when he moves back outside, but … oh well. He is a dog!!

NOW to the REAL STORY!!

Yesterday, after taking a good drink of water, Jacob turned around like he was looking for something …. walked over to the dishtowel that was hanging just at his head height. You guessed it …. that dog WIPED HIS MOUTH!!!

Just ask Neil. He will corroborate my story!!

I love my dogs!! Isn’t God good?
